Project Brief and Description:

Situated on the outskirts of Colinton Village in Edinburgh this new build property was built in the garden of the adjoining property. The construction comprised concrete strip foundations with a ground bearing floor slab. The external walls which were finished in K-Rend were constructed from a 100mm block work with a 100mm insulated cavity and 140mm blockwork inner leaf.

The pitched roofs were formed with structural trusses over clad with sarking, breather membrane and Cupa Slates. The flat roof areas were finished with a single ply membrane.
The inner face of blockwork was strapped to create a 25mm service zone and clad in insulated plasterboard. The ground floor partitions were formed in 100mm block finished with plasterboard on dabs. The first floor partitions were formed in in timber studs with 2 layers of acoustic plasterboard to each side.

Finishes included contemporary architraves and skirtings with engineered oak flooring throughout. Feature furniture to the office, snug and bedrooms was manufactured in our Joinery Workshop

TESTIMONIAL

“I am very happy to recommend John Dennis for high quality domestic/residential construction. I had the pleasure of working with them as main contractor for a UNDISCLOSED contract to build a new dwelling house, completed in 2017, in the Colinton area of Edinburgh.

All dealings with them were very professional yet very amicable, the contract works were carried out efficiently, effectively and to a high standard and involved, over and above the usual coordination of trades, cooperation with a number of specialist designers and subcontractors (viz lighting and IT installations). They have been particularly amenable and helpful in resolving all snagging issues and have where required contributed their expertise in resolving issues arising through the course of the works. I am happy to include them myself on future tender lists for projects of a similar nature and have no hesitation in recommending them similarly to others”.
